Clinton Smith has been creating works in glass since 1999 when he was first introduced to the medium by Tim Bristow at his studio in the famous Webatuck Craft Village in Hudson, NY. Growing up in Connecticut, he has always been inspired by his
natural surroundings. After completing a two year apprenticeship with Bristow he continued working in glass at several other local shops including Larson’s Glass Studio & Gilmore Glass in NY. Clinton has been working full time for Gartner/Blade Studios since 2003. While he enjoys his time as assistant in the Gartner/Blade hot shop, his true passion is found in flameworking. He has on two separate occasions assisted Master torchworker Paul Stankard in live demonstrations. He has
also been the guest speaker at marble conventions and other related shows. Clinton Smith began wholesaling his paperweights to galleries in 2011 and Liquid Sands is proud to be one of the first in the nation to represent his work.
